Bookkeeper 

Clear is looking for a Bookkeeper (work-from-home) with a proven track record of handling Australian account, to successfully join our specialist team of bookkeepers working for Australian clients from a range of industries.

Role and Opportunity

Your new role is to  provide remote work services to our various clients to maintain their financial systems and ensure timely compliance with relevant requirements.

Purpose

As a Bookkeeper, in a remote setup, you will:

  • Record financial transactions through our clients’ bookkeeping systems

  • Assist the supervisors or managers in producing financial reports

  • Process financial documents as needed by the clients.

As a Bookkeeper, your daily tasks in a "work-from-home" setup, you are expected to:

  • Maintain and manage company financial records, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date reporting

  • Record financial transactions and complete the posting process to Xero and other cloud-based bookkeeping systems

  • Review account codes and re-coding of transactions

  • Process purchase and sales invoices

  • Verify that invoices and transactions comply with Purchase Orders

  • Process authorised payment to suppliers’ invoices in an accurate and timely manner

  • Reconcile bank transactions, general ledger accounts, and other accounts

  • Review and balance the Balance Sheet and P&L account codes

  • Encode and post journal entries for accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Complete year-end GST reconciliation with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) lodgement documentation

  • Prepare and lodge Business (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) to the ATO

  • Process payroll, including payroll file payment and bank uploads

  • Process expense claims and reimbursements

  • Reconcile payroll and superannuation accounts

  • Assist with the month-end accounting process, including Payroll and Accounts Payable journals

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Prepare and pay payroll tax returns (monthly) and reconciliation on an annual basis

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as requested by the client and/or management.

  • Perform other tasks as required by the client and the management

Required Attributes

  • You are reliable with a mature disposition, delivering high-quality and professional services.

  • You are an excellent conversationalist in English (verbal and written).

  • You are technologically adept, highly trainable in new skills and software and can follow structured processes and templates.

  • You excel in multitasking, proactive in managing workload and meeting strict deadlines.

  • You perform your duties with minimal supervision and still produce outstanding results.

  • You have absolute respect for confidentiality and sensitivity of information, with the flexibility to perform other relevant tasks as required by the client or management.

Essential Experience 

  • An accounting degree or any finance-related course graduate
  • Having 2 or 3 years of work experience as Bookkeeper or Accountant for Australian clients.
  • Adept in using Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Experience in using Microsoft 365, proficient in Excel
  • Solid understanding of BAS preparation and Australian tax fundamentals.​
